Or “I don’t want all my posts to be ‘Don’t Do (list offense of the week here)!’ because really I’m a warm and snuggly person deep down where it counts.”
Dear Massage,
Thank you. Every part of my life has become better since I started doing this work 5 years ago. I am more calm and mellow and I smile almost all the time.
My clients are a constant source of inspiration. Watching how they handle children, illness, business decisions, love, loss helps me navigate these challenges in my own life.
Thanks for teaching me about freedom. I never thought I wanted to be self-employed, now I wouldn’t change that for anything. Look at me! I can take every 3rd Tuesday off on weeks with a full moon! (Okay, I don’t actually do that, but I could.)
When I sit down on my squishy roll-y stool, and I slide my hands under the head, settle my fingers at the occiput and feel the weight in the palms of my hands, I am home. I breathe more fully and peacefully than I ever have before and I am home.
Thank you for showing me that at the core, we are all the same. That I can relate to a 65 year old Army veteran who watches reality TV. And learn from a young athlete who grew up in circumstances I cannot begin to imagine. And laugh with a middle-schooler with Asperger’s who is wielding some fantastic sarcasm skills.
Oh, massage. You have woo-ed me. I am yours.
Love,
Allissa
PS-Enjoy the warm and fuzzy, next week I’m lighting the ‘tipping’ fire.
